Here in Brazil we have lots of famous miracle diet plans. Diet of soup, diet of carbohydrates, diet of moon are some samples. All of them can work for some time, but, early or late, they will fail. It happens because they don't help to teach food re-education. With them you drastically change your feed habits but some time later you end going back to old habits again.
When someone swings his or her weight many times, something else grows inside them: the feeling of frustration. They start thinking they are not able to stay with a healthy weight. In that moment, people start doing bad choices as using medicine and submiting to surgery.
Said it, my advise is DON'T THINK IN LESS WEIGHT, LEARN TO EAT. You can change. It is hard, but it is possible too.
